NEW YORK, N Y (WABC) -- Two days before New Year's Eve called for a 'confetti air' worthiness test.

The Cast of Aladdin on Broadway joined event organizers to toss confetti from atop the New Amsterdam Theatre Marquee for Annual Confetti Test Day.

The test was held on Monday, December 29 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at 214 West 42nd Street between 7th and 8th Avenues in Times Square.

Adam Jacobs (Aladdin), James Monroe Iglehart (Genie), and Courtney Reed (Jasmine) joined Times Square Alliance President Tim Tompkins, and Countdown Entertainment President Jeffrey Straus in preparation for the release of more than one ton of confetti at midnight on New Year's Eve.

Each year, visitors from countries across the world write their wishes for the New Year on pieces of confetti, which are collected at the New Year's Eve Wishing Wall. These pieces are then mixed in with 3,000 pounds of confetti that will flutter down onto revelers gathered in Times Square when the ball drops at midnight.

More than a thousand people from more than 50 countries have already submitted a wish this year. The public can submit wishes at the mobile New Year's Eve Wishing Wall in Times Square until December 29.

Wishes can also be submitted online at www.timessquarenyc.org/NYEWishes.
