Flames and sparks shoot from wires in Brooklyn

EAST FLATBUSH, Brooklyn (WABC) -- Dozens of people are without power after overhead wires caught fire in Brooklyn

The power wires caught fire on East 48th Street at Church Avenue in East Flatbush just after 2:50 a.m. Wednesday.

No one was injured.

Residents of one building were evacuated due to high carbon monoxide readings.

Con Edison reports 76 customers without power. It is not yet known when it will be restored.
