NEW TRAILER: The world of 'Snowfall' enters a new era with 'The Drop'
The FX series "Snowfall" continues with "The Drop," following Wanda and Leon into the rise of West Coast rap and a growing '90s Los Angeles.

LOS ANGELES -- A new decade brings a new hustle for the world of "Snowfall."

"The Drop: A Snowfall Saga" picks up after FX's hit crime drama, shifting from the crack epidemic of 1980s Los Angeles to the rise of West Coast rap in the '90s.

The official continuation follows "Snowfall" characters Wanda Bell (Gail Bean) and Leon Simmons (Isaiah John) as they fight to reinvent themselves in a city still dealing with the fallout of the crack era.

Convinced West Coast rap can reshape American culture, Wanda sets out to build a group of artists with dreams of making it big.

But breaking into the music industry means navigating the dangerous intersection of rap and street politics.

The original series "Snowfall" ran for six seasons on FX, chronicling the rise of Franklin Saint and the impact of the crack epidemic on Los Angeles.

"The Drop" moves that story into a new era, exploring the culture and music emerging from its aftermath.

The series is executive produced by Malcolm Spellman, Dave Andron, Thomas Schlamme, Julie DeJoie, Michael London, Trevor Engelson and Paul Garnes.

"The Drop: A Snowfall Saga" premieres Sept. 8 on FX and Hulu.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of FX, Hulu and this ABC station.
