2 people injured after fire breaks out at construction site in East Williamsburg

EAST WILLIAMSBURG, Brooklyn (WABC) -- Two people were injured after a fire broke out at a construction site in Brooklyn on Monday.

Officials received a call just before 7 p.m. for a fire at 254 Boerum St., between Bushwick Place and White Street in East Williamsburg.

Citizen App video captured a cloud of black smoke rising over the construction site.

Officials say 25 units and over 100 fire and EMS personnel responded to the two-alarm fire that also extended to 252 Boerum St.

Two people were treated for minor injuries and are being evaluated.

The fire was brought under control just before 8:30 p.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
