Fire damages IHOP restaurant during breakfast rush in Hasbrouck Heights
HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, New Jersey (WABC) -- A fire during the breakfast hours damaged an IHOP restaurant in Hasbrouck Heights on Monday morning.
The prompted a large emergency response and partial road closures, according to fire officials.
The Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department released photos showing firefighters battling the blaze at the restaurant on Route 17 at about 7 a.m.
Officials said the fire escalated to three alarms and led authorities to shut down part of Route 17 while crews worked to contain it.
The fire was eventually extinguished, but significant damage remained to the building's roof.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire has not been released. Investigators have not said what sparked the blaze.
