NEW YORK (WABC) -- Prepare for another Gridlock Alert day as France and Sweden will battle it out at New York New Jersey Stadium starting at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
New Yorkers should expect heavy traffic and travel delays throughout the day and are encouraged to walk, bike or take public transportation whenever possible.
Trains out of Penn Station and Secaucus Junction will be limited to only riders heading to the stadium between 12:30 p.m. and 4:18 p.m.
After 4:18 p.m., normal train service is expected for commuters in NYC heading home during the evening commute.
Officials say 97% of those heading to the World Cup have gotten to and from matches without any problems. However, vehicle traffic outside Penn Station has not moved much at all on Tuesday.
Shuttle and bus priority corridors will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Access on the following corridors and lanes will be limited to NYNJ Stadium shuttle buses, MTA local buses, Official World Cup affiliate vehicles and emergency vehicles:
Truck deliveries in Midtown will be restricted from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. within the area bounded by 30th Street and 60th Street.
The official NYNJ Stadium Shuttle $20 bus service is not sold out yet, per the NYNJ Host Committee.
