2 injured in construction site incident in Hoboken

Two Hoboken construction workers taken to hospital after accident

HOBOKEN, New Jersey (WABC) -- Two people were injured after an incident at a construction site in Hoboken, New Jersey, on Thursday morning.

Hoboken police, fire and EMS crews responded to 111 Observer Highway around 10:45 a.m. after reports of an incident at a building under construction.

One person was taken to an area hospital to be treated for their injuries.

The other was safely removed from the upper levels of the structure using a crane basket.

Observer Highway was temporarily closed in both directions to allow first responders to operate safely.

City officials are urging residents to avoid the area.

The cause of the incident is not yet known.
