MANHATTAN, New York (WABC) -- The Las Vegas Metro Police released body camera footage, 911 calls and documents related to years of calls involving Midtown Manhattan shooting suspect Shane Tamura.

The evidence, posted Tuesday in response to public records requests from ABC News, documents Tamura's years-long struggle with mental health before he opened fire in a Midtown office building.

The two audio recordings and seven videos include mental health calls in which Tamura's mother was worried about his mental well-being.

Details from the released footage

In one of those calls, police are told he has a gun and had threatened to end his own life.

Video from a May 2024 traffic stop shows Tamura being pulled over in the same BMW he drove to the Midtown shooting. He was cited for driving without a drivers license and informed that his driver's license had been suspended for multiple unresolved traffic violations.

In another incident the previous year, Tamura refused to show ID when trying to cash in a $5,000 casino prize. After refusing to identify himself and leave the property, police charged him with trespassing.

In September of 2022, police were so concerned about Tamura's mental state they filed an emergency petition to have him committed to a mental health facility. Body camera footage form 2024 shows first responders inside his apartment, after his mother made a desperate plea, stating her son wanted to end his life and had a gun stored inside the apartment.

Tamura ultimately would end up claiming the lives of four people in what authorities say was an effort to target NFL headquarters. He claimed the shooting was connected to CTE and wanted his brain to be studied.
