Legendary Coney Island Cyclone turns 99

CONEY ISLAND, Brooklyn (WABC) -- The legendary Coney Island Cyclone turns 99 on Friday.

The Coney Island Cyclone opened on Friday, June 26,1927.

It reaches a maximum speed of 60 miles an hour and carries 24 passengers.

The roller coaster has a total track length of 2,640 feet.

The Coney Island Cyclone is the second-steepest wooden roller coaster in the world.

It remains one of Luna Park's most popular attractions.
