NEW YORK (WABC) -- As families across the country prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving next week, you may be thinking about what foods and desserts to cook for your loved ones.
This holiday season, Eyewitness News reporter Lucy Yang is sharing her recipe for a delectable dark chocolate pecan pie.
Since the recipe doesn't require any skill, it's just as easy to make two pies as it is to make one. The chocolate pecan pie is also perfect as a holiday gift.
Here's how to make it:
Ingredients:
Instructions:
Step 1: In a deep dish pan with pie crust, add 1 cup of pecans and 1 cup of dark chocolate chips.
Step 2: Separately, mix 3 eggs, 2/3 cup sugar (mix of white and brown), 1/3 cup of melted butter, 1 cup of corn syrup (mix light and dark), and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
(Note: You can use a little bit less sugar than the actual measurement. The pie will still be plenty sweet!)
Step 3: After all the wet ingredients have been thoroughly mixed, pour the blend into the pie crust on top of the pecans and dark chocolate chips.
Step 4: Bake your pie at 375 degrees for about 40 minutes.
Step 5: If you notice the top of the pie appears to still jiggle after 40 minutes of cooking, put it back into the oven for another 10 minutes or until it's cooked on the inside.
Step 6: Once done, take your pie out of the oven and let it cool.
Step 7: Cut slices of your pie to serve and enjoy!
