Pedestrian hit by car, killed in Queens on Roosevelt Avenue

JACKSON HEIGHTS (WABC) -- A man is dead after he was hit by a vehicle while crossing the street in Jackson Heights.

According to authorities, EMS responded to a scene at 4:40 a.m. at Roosevelt Avenue and 92nd Street where a pedestrian was found dead. The victim, a 42-year-old-man, has not been identified.

The pedestrian was crossing Roosevelt when he was hit by a car travelling eastbound. The driver was taken into custody and taken to Elmhurst General Hospital. Formal charges are pending.

The driver, a 42-year-old man, and his 35-year-old passenger were taken to Elmhurst General Hospital in stable condition.

The investigation is continuing.
