
WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, Manhattan (WABC) -- Approximately 70 people were evacuated from three buildings in Manhattan for reports of a gas leak.
Con Edison responded to a gas detector alarm for a leak inside 1989 Amsterdam Avenue around 10:30 a.m. Monday.
It appeared that construction workers hit a gas line.
Residents in 1993 and 1985 Amsterdam Ave. were also evacuated while crews from Con Ed investigated.
No injuries have been reported.
