JAMAICA, Queens -- A mother in Queens is now charged with murder in the death of her 15-month-old son, according to police.
Police say officers responded on Monday to a 911 call of an assault inside a home on 157th Street in Jamaica, Queens.
When officers arrived, they found the 1-year-old and his 28-year-old mother, Nicole Boodhai, inside a bathtub.
Police said the mother was found with slash wounds to her wrists and the toddler was unconscious and covered in his mother's blood.
Police said there was no blunt force trauma to his body, and the medical examiner will determine the cause of his death.
Police said that after the murder, she told the boy's father what happened, and that's when police arrived and took her to the hospital.
She is in the hospital and is awaiting arraignment.
