MTA expands use of bus lane enforcement cameras in Brooklyn, Manhattan to speed up buses

NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- The MTA is expanding the use of bus lane enforcement cameras in Brooklyn and Manhattan to speed up city buses.

Beginning Friday, drivers caught on camera in B-68, B-60 and M-57 lanes will be fined $50. Repeat violations will be charged up to $250.

Since the MTA started the program in 2024, bus speeds have jumped an average of 5%. Some corridors have seen gains as high as 30%.
