Juvenile charged with murder after teen shot in back and killed in Lakewood
LAKEWOOD, New Jersey (WABC) -- A juvenile has been charged with murder in connection to a deadly shooting on Sunday evening.
Police responded to reports of another juvenile male shot in the back just after 8:15 p.m. in the area of Pearl Street.
The victim was taken to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood where he died from his injuries.
The suspect has not been identified since he is a minor and is being held in the Ocean County Juvenile Detention Center.
In addition to a charge of murder, he is also facing charges of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon.
