Raging fire rips through home in Norwood, New Jersey; 1 man hospitalized with burns

Fire destroys house in Norwood, NJ; 1 resident suffers burns to hands and face

NORWOOD, New Jersey (WABC) -- One person was taken to the hospital after raging fire broke out at a home in New Jersey on Tuesday.

NewsCopter 7 was over the burning home located on 17th Street near Fifth Avenue in Norwood.

The fire broke out at the single-family home in the afternoon.

Fire crews could be seen attempting to spray water on the house as flames and plumes of smoke billowed from it.

Officials say one man was outside of the home when police arrived at the scene. He was taken to the hospital with burns to his hands and face.

There's no word yet on what caused the fire.
