MASPETH, Queens (WABC) -- Maspeth residents called police with various complaints amid a car takeover event on neighborhood streets overnight.

Officers arrived and dispersed the majority of the gathering around 1:50 a.m. on Saturday.

Three people jumped onto the hood of a police vehicle, cracking the windshield.

One motorist was issued a summons for blocking a crosswalk.

No one was injured during or after the gathering, police say.

Council Member Phil Wong (D-Queens) took aim at the gathering, calling it "disgusting."

"This kind of reckless behavior is an attack on our quality of life, and it cannot be tolerated. I've asked for a full debrief from the precinct and will meet with Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch next week to ensure accountability and that we take concrete steps to prevent this from happening again. These takeovers and the ongoing late-night car meetups blasting music are exactly the kind of chaos my office is working to stop," Wong said.
