21-year-old woman killed in Queens shooting

EAST ELMHURST, Queens (WABC) -- Police are searching for the person responsible for shooting and killing a woman in Queens.

The shooting happened Friday around 9:20 p.m. at 26-30 96th St. in the East Elmhurst section.

Police say 21-year-old Dashanna Donovan was standing in a doorway at the location, when she was struck in the head by a bullet after several shots were fired.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

It's not clear if she was the intended target.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
