NEW YORK (WABC) -- "22 Jump Street" aims low and hits the mark, winking at us all the way.
Undercover cops 'Schmidt' and 'Jenko' have graduated from high school to college for the sequel.
Despite the change in venue this is otherwise a re-run of the earler film.
Ice Cube is back as their boss and he's the funniest person in this movie, especially when we discover he has a stake in what happens to Schmidt that's not apparent at first.
Jonah Hill has turned 30 years of age now and Channing Tatum is 34, which makes them tough to believe as college students and the moviemakers have sensibly embraced that and mined it for laughs.
The partners split up for awhile when Jenko joins a fraternity where Hill's character gets shunned.
Their time apart reminds us how effective they are together as a team and placing them side-by-side was a bet that continues to pay-off.
Their fans are going to pay to see them regardless of what i say and no, they won't be disappointed with this blend of action and slap-stick humor. But given how great they are together, 'good enough' is just another way of saying "could've been a lot better."
