Rite Aid closes the last of its stores on Friday after declaring bankruptcy in spring

Rite Aid is now on the list of pharmacies from the past.

The chain closed the last of its stores on Friday. The company declared bankruptcy for the second time this past spring.

It had survived a restructuring that began in 2023 but was still deeply in debt.

The first Rite-Aid store opened back in 1964 in Scranton.
