NEW YORK (WABC) -- Researchers in France have discovered a link between spicy foods and testosterone levels.

According to a study conducted at the University of Grenoble-Alps titled "Some Like It Hot", men with high testosterone levels tend to love spicy food more than men with lower levels of the hormone.

The study tested 114 men between the ages of 18 and 44 by giving them mashed potatoes with hot pepper sauce and salt to eat.

Researchers say there was a clear correlation between the amount of hot sauce test patients used during a meal and the testosterone levels found in their saliva.

The study was published in the journal "Physiology and Behavior".
