Woman dies after SUV crashes into backyard pool at home in Nassau County
HEWLETT, Long Island (WABC) -- A woman died after a vehicle crashed into a backyard pool in Hewlett on Friday, authorities said.
NewsCopter 7 was over the scene in Nassau County, where the white SUV could be seen submerged in the pool off Elinor Road.
It happened just before 9:30 a.m.
Police said a 40-year-old woman was in the driveway of a home when she lost control of her vehicle, striking a tree and a parked car before going into the pool.
She was removed from the vehicle before police arrived.
Officers performed CPR, and she was taken to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
