NEW YORK (WABC) -- True crime is everywhere, but the most gripping version might just be on an off-Broadway stage.
"Kenrex," playing at the Lucile Lortel Theatre, stars one man: Jack Holden.
Holden won the Olivier before heading to New York for the show that is drawing crowds and celebrities alike.
He says his inspiration is the greats like Jim Carrey and Robin Williams.
As for the story of "Kenrex," it's an infamous unsolved murder -- a story being brought to life in a format that feels part podcast, part rock concert and completely unlike anything you have ever seen.
Before you think the show is going to be a heavy night at the theater, Holden says that's not the case.
"People come to the show thinking it's going to be scary and dark - and it's actually funny...it's like being at a rock concert," Holden said. "John's music is so incredible, so live. It's got something for everyone."
Joelle Garguilo has more with Holden in the video player above.
