52-year-old woman attacked on the Upper East Side; police release video of suspect

UPPER EAST SIDE, Manhattan (WABC) -- Police have released surveillance video of a man who they say attacked a woman on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

The attack happened just before midnight on Monday, near East 92nd Street and Third Avenue.

Police say the 52-year-old victim was grabbed by the neck from behind, then was shoved to the ground, punched and kicked by the suspect.

Somehow, she only suffered minor injuries.

While the victim was on the ground, police say the suspect took off with her purse, fleeing westbound on East 92nd Street.

Police describe the suspect as a man, last seen wearing a black baseball cap, gray T-shirt, black pants and black sneakers.
