US government to stop issuing paper checks: What you need to know to avoid disruptions, scams
In an effort to reduce fraud, theft and delays, most government agencies are going to stop printing checks.
The change was mandated by a presidential executive order, and it kicks in on Tuesday.
It applies to benefits like tax refunds and social security checks. So, if you still get your payment with paper, it's time to switch to electronic payments.
