Vehicle goes airborne, crashes into side of Bronx McDonald's

SOUNDVIEW, The Bronx (WABC) -- There were some frightening moments for customers at a McDonald's in the Bronx when a car plowed into the building.

The vehicle went airborne at the location on Bruckner Boulevard between Morrison Ave. And Boynton Ave. in Soundview on Saturday just before noon.

There is a hole in the brick facade where the front end of the car got wedged.

There were two people in the car when it crashed. They both fled the scene.

There were no injuries and the investigation is ongoing.

The restaurant is closed until further notice.
