Feeding the hungry on Thanksgiving
Anthony Johnson reports.

PATERSON, N.J. (WABC) -- Thanksgiving is a day when we pause to show our gratitude for everything from the people we're lucky enough to have in our lives, to the food that we have on the table, and everything in between.

It's also an opportunity for people to give back.

While many of us have a lot to be thankful for this year, others struggle to find a meal each day.

On Thanksgiving, Eva's Village make's a special meal to help those who need it the most.

Thanksgiving's traditional feast is being served by two very special guests: U.S. Senator Cory Booker and Sen. Bob Menendez. They were serving the food restaurant style to many grateful people.

Volunteers are also happy to share their time and do their part on this special day of thanks.

Eve's Village helps the homeless, mentally ill and less fortunate every day.

But this meal with all the trimmings gives everyone a real taste of the holiday.
