President Donald Trump has pardoned former U.S. Rep. Michael Grimm, a New York Republican who resigned from Congress after a tax fraud conviction.
WABC-TV hosted the first televised debate for New York's 11th Congressional District, which is one of the most hotly contested races in the United States.
Grimm has been indicted on 20 counts, including tax evasion, fraud and conspiracy.
Prosecutors say the evidence against him includes thousands of emails, which had been turned over to Grimm's lawyers.
New York Congressman Michael Grimm surrendered to federal authorities Monday morning to face criminal fraud charges.
