Tails of Valor gives back to veterans with service dogs
Tails of Valor in Coopersburg is providing service canines for veterans in need for help with PTSD and TBI.

COOPERSBURG, Pennsylvania -- Tails of Valor is transforming the lives of veterans through the powers of service dogs.

"Our veterans have signed that blank check and given the sacrifices whether it be their life or their time to be able to secure our country," says founder Heather Lloyd.

The organization specializes in pairing these incredible animals with veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injuries (TBI), mobility impairments, and other service-related impairments.

Santos Sales served in both the Army and Marine Corps and has been paired with his service dog, Buddy.

"When I met him it was like an instant, wow! He makes me go places and meet people, he's like part of me, Santos said.

Jessica Hebler served in the Army for 17 years and was paired with Pauley.

"With Pauley, he just laid down right next to me and kind of snuggled up with me and I'm like 'aw I feel a connection,'" Hebler said.

The organization receives their dogs as puppies as donations from local breeders and trains them for two years alongside the veteran.

The dogs come at no cost to the veterans in the program. Tails of Valor relies solely on donors and sponsors, if you want to contribute to their mission, you can visit their website at Tailsofvalor.org/.
