High winds causing trouble around the area

Almost 100 customers without power in Westchester County
NEW YORK Eyewitness News is told the winds tore through the county's Sound Shore, knocking out power in White Plains, Larchmont, New Rochelle and Mamaroneck.

Crews reportedly worked for much of the morning at Maple and Summit avenues in White Plains, where a downed tree tore down power lines.

In Larchmont, wires were knocked down on Quarry Road, Cedar Avenue, Willow Avenue and Flint Avenue.

While in New Rochelle, a utility pole sparked in front of 2192 Palmer Avenue.

Meanwhile, in Mamaroneck, a transformer blew out at 2155 Palmer Avenue.

Con Edison said the utility had extra crews overnight and was able to respond to downed trees as they happened.

Officials say several hundred customers were also without power this morning on Long Island and New Jersey.

The winds are also expected to cause flight delays today.
