Conn. military members set to become US citizens

GROTON, Conn.

Congressman Joe Courtney and Senior U.S. District Judge Warren Eginton are among the officials scheduled to take part in Monday's 1 p.m. naturalization ceremony at the Submarine Force Museum.

Also expected to participate are the Groton submarine base's commanding officer, Capt. Marc Denno, and Ethan Enzer of the Hartford office of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Authorities say the citizenship candidates come from 12 countries: Brazil, Barbados, Canada, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Germany, Italy, Jamaica, Philippines, St. Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, and Vietnam.

The ceremony will also commemorate Military Appreciation Month and Armed Forces Day on May 21.
