Astoria attempted rape suspect caught on camera

The NYPD has released a picture of a man who allegedly tried to rape a woman in Queens over the weekend.

Authorities say the suspect attacked a 22-year-old woman in Astoria around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

He walked up behind the victim on 30th Avenue, shoved her to the ground and sexually assaulted her.

She fought back, and the man ran off.

The woman had some cuts and bruises, but is expected to be OK. She refused medical attention at the scene.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his early 30s, about 5-foot-7 and weighing 145 pounds.
