Man hit, killed by city bus while getting out of car in Bronx

BRONX, N.Y. (WABC) -- A man was killed as stumbled out of a car into the path of a city bus Friday in the Kingsbridge section.

Police said 23-year-old Luis Inoa, of the Bronx, who had just left an Inwood club, told his livery driver to pull over on West 231 Street just after 2:30 a.m. Inoa opened the back door of the livery car and vomited.

A passing bus driver told police he spotted the man and veered to get out his way. But Inoa stumbled out of the livery car and was hit by the bus. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident is under investigation.

The man and his friend had just left the 809 Lounge in Inwood before the fatal freak accident.

The bus driver stopped at the scene and was being questioned.
