WATCH: Teen jumps from moving car after alleged abduction in Bridgeport
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WABC) -- The video shows the teenaged girl's dramatic escape from what police call a would-be abduction.
The 17-year-old barrel rolled out of a moving Toyota, which proceeded to drive around town.
Bridgeport Police want your help in finding the driver, said to be a woman in her 40s.
It started at the corner of Boston and Palisade in Bridgeport.
The teen was walking to school early Monday morning when police say the driver of a charcoal gray Toyota lured her into the car, and started assaulting her.
The victim managed to bail and call police.
The Toyota then made a U-turn at Dover Street and traveled east on Boston Avenue, continuing into Stratford.
"Maybe if it was a man trying to get her in the car, but seeing as it's a woman, but she still don't know who that person is," a resident said.
Police haven't said how the suspect lured the victim into the car in the first place.
The car is described as a Toyota Yaris with its rear bumper missing to expose the white Styrofoam beneath.
It was being driven by an apparent predator; the teenager forced to risk her life, to get away.
"It's like her only resort. What else could she do, cause maybe if she didn't bail out she'd be dead," a resident said.
The victim described the suspect as a Hispanic woman in her 40s, with black hair in a ponytail and freckles on her face. She was wearing a black leather jacket at the time.
