BUSHWICK (WABC) -- A woman was hit by flying glass in her forehead when a bullet went through the window of an MTA bus in Brooklyn.

In surveillance video, you can see the B13 bus pull up to the stop at Wyckoff and Greene Avenues around 2:30 p.m. in Bushwick.

That's when the gunfire rang out. And then, four men ran away from the scene.

"People are crazy", said one woman who was walking on the busy block in the middle of the afternoon when she saw four men walk by.

She said not a word was spoken as she watched one man take a gun and appear to open fire on one of the others.

In the video, you can see other pedestrians running for cover.

When it was over, one of those bullets had pierced a window on the left side of that city bus, traveling diagonally through to the right side, where it exited through another window.

Shards of glass grazed the face of an innocent passenger, a woman in her 60s.

"Had anybody been sitting where that bullet exited, that person would be dead. Because it was face level the way that bullet is sitting and it would have taken someone's life," said Tony Herbert, a Community Advocate.

Police spent several hours cataloguing the scene, and the three shell casings scattered across the sidewalk.

A motive for the shooting is not clear. What is clear is that people who live and work in this changing neighborhood are terrified.

The bus driver was also taken to a waiting ambulance to be treated for shock.

No arrests have been made.
