Man crossing the street killed in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (WABC) -- A man was killed after he was struck by a car in Brooklyn near Barclays Center.

New York City police said a 66-year-old man was crossing the street at Atlantic Avenue and Clinton Street in Cobble Hill, when the driver of a Mercedes struck him.

The man was taken to Brooklyn Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the car, a 26-year-old man, stayed at the scene.

No arrests were made. Police are continuing to investigate.

Witnesses told Eyewitness News the victim was a local business owner.
