1 killed in pedestrian crash on Route 1 in Edison, NJ

EDISON, New Jersey (WABC) -- A person was hit and killed by a car in New Jersey Friday morning.

The crash happened at about 5 a.m. on Route 1 near the intersection of Forest Haven Boulevard in Edison.

There's no word yet what caused the person to get hit.

Route 1 north was closed while police investigate, and traffic is backed up in the area.
