Southern New Jersey bared the brunt of the storm with upwards of a foot in some places, including Absecon in Atlantic County which got 13 inches of snow.
A state of emergency declared effect in five counties: Ocean, Burlington, Atlantic, Cape May, and Cumberland. The State of Emergency allows resources to be deployed throughout the impacted areas during the duration of the storm.
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy called Monday's snow "the most significant South Jersey storm event in four years."

Emergency declared for southern NJ amid snowstorm
A Winter Storm Warning was in effect through Monday evening for those southern areas, and Governor Phil Murphy asked drivers to stay off the roads when possible.
"Folks, if you can, based on who you work for and your working circumstance, if you can sit the commute out and delay that a little bit in the morning, that's probably a smart move," he said. "Not just for you, but for the whole operation."
State police reported 160 accidents, and came to the aid of 245 motorists.
More than 1,900 customers were without power in Barnegat, Ocean County following a car crash.
Murphy said the heavier snow levels were on the shore side of the counties. While there is some coastal flooding, he said it was less than feared.
Meanwhile, closer to NYC, the city of Newark activated a "Code Blue" for Monday night into Tuesday morning as temperatures were expected to drop to the mid-20s.
In New York City, about 700 sanitation trucks spread salt ahead of the snow's arrival. The omicron variant of COVID-19 continues to impact lives, with approximately 20% of DSNY workers calling out sick. The remaining crews were asked to extend their hours to make up for the staffing shortage.
New York City Emergency Management issued a travel advisory.
