Big expansion brewing at Brooklyn Navy Yard; rooftop restaurant, beer garden slated to open in 2018

WILLIAMSBURG, Brooklyn (WABC) -- There's a big plan brewing to re-develop the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

Brooklyn Brewery will be coming to Navy Yard Building 77 in 2018, along with a rooftop restaurant and beer garden.

Building 77 is the largest building in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, measuring 1 million square feet.

Brooklyn Navy Yard President and CEO David Ehrenberg says that at $185 million, the redevelopment is the largest project they've ever undertaken.

Over the next four years, the expansion will also create 3,000 new jobs.
