County firefighter taken to hospital after responding to fire in Clark, NJ

CLARK, New Jersey (WABC) -- A New Jersey firefighter is being treated after suffering a medical emergency while at the scene of a fire in Union County Thursday afternoon.

The fire broke out just before 1:30 p.m. in a house on Crescent Parkway in Clark, near St. John the Apostle School.

Flames and smoke were seen coming from the house when firefighters arrived.

The firefighter who was taken to the hospital was with a fire department from a nearby town that responded to help with the fire.

There's no word yet what started the fire.
