QUEENS, New York (WABC) -- In this edition of Eyewitness News Extra Time, we begin with breaking news in Queens, where a man was run over and killed after attempting to stop two suspects from breaking into his car.
It happened just after 3 p.m. on Wednesday at 85th Street and 25th Avenue in East Elmhurst.

Hundreds of demonstrators took to the streets Wednesday in a show of support for the Palestinians in Gaza while demanding an end to campus censorship at Columbia University. Outside Columbia's administration building, 250 professors walked-out in protest, joining students and alumni - all furious over the university's decision to suspend the on-campus activities of two groups, critical of Israel: Students for Justice in Palestine and Jewish Voice for Peace. Students for Justice in Palestine and Jewish Voice for Peace were suspended for the remainder of the fall semester after the university determined their protests for a cease-fire violated school policy.
Three Jewish students are accusing the NYU of failing to protect them from antisemitism. The lawsuit filed on Wednesday alleges the university allowed students and professors to harass the Jewish population on campus, claiming a violation of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, prohibiting discrimination on the basis of race, color or national origin. NYU pushed back Wednesday, claiming the lawsuit doesn't accurately describe the conditions on campus and that NYU has taken steps to fight antisemitism.
