Inspirational athlete returns to competition on handcycle after devastating accident

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Glenn Hartrick ran his first New York City Marathon in 2006 and was hooked.[br /][br /]He has completed multiple Ironman competitions.[br /][br /]He was on the cover of Runners World Magazine in 2012, saying "My legs take me places, allow me to see things".[br /][br /]Six months later, he was in a cycling accident that left him with a severed spine, plus a broken shoulder, scapula, and nine ribs.[br /][Ads /][br /]Six weeks into his rehab therapy he was asking about racing again and had his mind set on a handcycle.[br /][br /]And that's where the Challenged Athletes Foundation stepped in.
