NEW YORK (WABC) -- From Bay Ridge to the Bronx and beyond, the Big Apple has gone nuts for the Knicks.

The team is not only in the NBA Finals for the first time in 27 years, New York is riding a 12-0 roll after rallying from a 14-point second-half deficit in a 105-95 win at San Antonio in Game 1 on Wednesday night.

Game 2 is Friday night in San Antonio before the series shifts to New York on Monday.

This NBA Finals matchup has a lot of similarities with the last time the Knicks made the finals in 1999.

The Spurs were their opponent that year and just so happened to have a generational big-man talent who was heading to the title round for the first time.

Back then for the Spurs, it was Tim Duncan. This time for the Spurs, it's Victor Wembanyama.

But that's where the Knicks are hoping the similarities end. The team lost to the Spurs in five games in 1999, but after winning Game 1 on Wednesday, this New York squad is writing their own script as it looks to win its first championship in 53 years.

Channel 7 is your home for the NBA Finals.

NYC entrepreneur capitalizing on rush of Knicks memorabilia

Rob Jones was born and raised in the Bronx.

He works construction by day and never in his wildest dreams did he imagine the Knicks would be here.

And never did he imagine he'd be standing on a corner by The Garden making deals.

His biggest struggle this week has been keeping up with demand.

Someone offered $200 for his sneakers.

He declined because he needed shoes to get home.

"Entrepreneurship, you know, New York is all about hustle," he said.

In the end Jones says he's not really doing this for money, it's a way to feel more connected with other Knicks fans.

But he really wants three more wins.
