NYC, most of Tri-State under Flood Watch for Tuesday

There were more than 1,500 flight cancellations Monday night across several airports due to severe storms.

Flights out of LGA were seeing delays of over an hour.

There are already more than 600 flight cancellations Tuesday, and the FAA expects flight delays Tuesday from Boston through the South of DC due to thunderstorms.

American, Delta, United and JetBlue have issued travel waivers for Tuesday, allowing customers to rebook their flights for a later date this week without any extra fees or fare differences.

Tuesday morning will be mainly dry, but a muggy start but by early afternoon, the flooding downpours will begin. Once the rain starts, there will be rounds of it. Some of those storms can have damaging wind gusts and hail.

The flood threat goes into Wednesday morning.

In general, we could see 1 to 3 inches, but some areas could see 4 to 5 inches of rain.
