Driver killed when SUV slams into house in Huntington, LI

HUNTINGTON (WABC) -- A Long Island man was killed late Friday when his SUV crashed into a house in Huntington.

Suffolk County police say the vehicle driven by 49-year-old James Spillane of Syosset veered to the left and drove across a lawn, then crashed into the home.

Spillane was pronounced dead at the scene. No one inside the house was hurt.

Police say a preliminary investigation indicates he may have suffered a medical emergency before his SUV left the road.

There was minor damage to the house. The SUV was impounded for a safety check.
