HOLETOWN BEACH, Barbados (WABC) -- A couple from New Jersey vacationing in Barbados has been reported missing.

Oscar Suarez, 32, and Magdalena Devil, 25, of Montclair, were last seen proceeding out to sea on a jet ski at Holetown Beach on Monday, authorities say.

"The last time I hugged my son is when he said goodbye to me on Saturday morning, about 6," mom Ninfa Urrutia said. "I wished him well, regret that I didn't take him to the airport."

When she texted him two days later, there was no response.

The couple was wearing life jackets but never returned to shore.

When the jet ski operator became concerned, they contacted other operators and the Barbados Coast Guard to carry out a search, but neither the couple nor the jet ski were found.

"When my husband passed away last month, he was with us every night," neighbor Adlyn Aerr said. "He was at the wake...He comes every night. He always makes sure I'm OK."

The couple was scheduled to return from Barbados on June 29. Suarez's mother and sister arrived on the island Wednesday.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIPS (8477) or contact the nearest police station.
