BATH BEACH, Brooklyn (WABC) -- A desperate search is underway for a missing 88-year-old in Brooklyn who was last seen on her front porch.
Mary Joyce Bonsignore is a wife, a mother, a grandmother and a parishioner at St. Finbar Church. The monsignor is helping to organize a search.
The fear is that Bonsignore wandered off and didn't know how to get back home - she also had no money with her. Bonsignore has dementia, but is in pretty good health for her late-80s, in fact, she went dancing a few days before she disappeared.
Eyewitness News spoke with Bonsignore's worried daughter, Maire Mason and her monsignor, Father Michael Gelfant.
"She is tough and driven, and I believe that will follow through," Mason said.
"My reminder to everyone is that you are not an investigator, you're a nosy neighbor. If a gate is open, put your nose over there and find out. That is more of what we are doing," added Father Gelfant.
Gelfant says more than 120 volunteers showed up on Sunday afternoon to look for Bonsignore, armed with fliers and determination. Volunteers will be scouring Bath Beach, Bensonhurst and parts of Bay Ridge
