NYPD looking for suspect in Lower East Side apartment building sexual attack

NEW YORK -- Police are looking for a suspect in a sexual attack in an apartment building on the Lower East Side.

Around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, a woman was followed into her building in the Lower East Side by a man. When they reached the fifth floor, the suspect grabbed her from behind, choked her and sexually abused her. The victim fought him off and he fled.

The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital where she was treated for bruising to her hands and neck.
