Suspect arrested in fatal stabbing in Yonkers

YONKERS (WABC) -- Police have arrested a suspect in a stabbing early Saturday that left a 21-year old man dead in Yonkers.

At about 6:20 a.m., police responded to the area of 8 Schroeder Street on a report of a stabbing.

Authorities say the victim was found with multiple stab wounds and pronounced dead at a local trauma center.

After an investigation, police identified 22-year old Antonio Barnett of Yonkers as the suspect.

He was charged with murder and will be arraigned Monday in Yonkers Criminal Court.

Police say their initial investigation has revealed that this was not a random incident, and the investigation is ongoing.

The victim has not yet been identified.
