New Jersey teacher to face jail time after having sex with student

HACKENSACK, New Jersey (WABC) -- A high school teacher in New Jersey is heading to prison after having sex with a student.

65-year-old Donald Dewitt was sentenced to four years behind bars after pleading guilty to child endangerment. He will also have to register as a sex offender.

Dewitt taught at Bergen County Academies in Hackensack. He was arrested last year after e-mails he sent to the 16-year-old victim were discovered by her parents.
